Scott Halliday - Trumpet

Scott Halliday is one of the Capital Region's premiere and most in-demand trumpet players. Experienced in multiple musical genres, Scott can be heard performing in many of the region's top ensembles. A graduate of the Crane School of music, he is also a high school band director at Columbia High School.

Dave Hosley - Trumpet

David Hosley has conducted the University at Albany Jazz Ensemble for the past twenty years and also given trumpet lessons at SUNY Albany. Dave retired from teaching instrumental music in the East Greenbush Central School District. He received his Bachelor of Music from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and his Master of Science in Music Education from The College of Saint Rose in Albany. Mr. Hosley is a member of the International Trumpet Guild, New York State School Music Association, and MENC: The National Association for Music Education.

Mr. Hosley has performed with the Joey Thomas Band and the Dyanne Marlowe Big Band of the Northeast on trumpet and piano and has been a studio musician for Spectrum Studios in Lanesboro, MA. He received an award from the BET Jazz Channel for jazz instrumental performance with the Joe Finn Jazz Quartet. Mr. Hosley has appeared as a guest conductor for the Rensselaer County High School Jazz Ensemble. He continues to perform on a regular basis with his own band, the North Country Jazz Project, and the Dominant Five Brass Quintet.

Sue Wheeler - Horn

Susan Wheeler, French horn, has taught band, chorus, and general music for the Brittonkill, Guilderland, North Colonie, Albany and Pittsfield, MA School Districts. She also teaches privately. A regular performer with the Capital Region Wind Ensemble, the Dominant 5 Brass Quintet, and the Mohawk Horn Quartet, Sue maintains an active performing and teaching schedule.

Jon Kusche - Trombone

Jon Kusche is a top trombone player, with regular performances with the Schenectacy Symphony Orchestra, as well as other ensembles. With degrees from the Crane School of Music and the Eastman School of Mucis, Jon's experience as a trombone player is second to none. An expert music educator in the East Greenbush School District, Jon maintains a prive studio and an active schedule as a NYSSMA Adjudicator.

Michael Blostein - Tuba

As a tuba player, Mr. Blostein maintains a busy schedule performing, teaching and working as a clinician. He regularly performs with the Old Time Dance Band and Alpengluhen German Band, in addition to multiple freelance performances and his work with the Dominant Five. He also actively performs on bass trombone, including the Brass-O-Mania Big Band and 20 years with the Georgie Wonders Orchestra. When not performing, Mike is active as a private low brass instructor. He has run the TubaChristmas celebration in Albany for the last decade, and is an ASCAP composer, with music appearing on mutiple audition lists and regularly performed. Mike has been a music educator at Averill Park High School for over two decades (twice a quarter-finalist for a GRAMMY), and is also currently an Adjunct Professor of Low Brass at RPI.
